Several of you have requested a sample ballot so you can review and research all items and people on it before placing a vote. Accordingly, a sample ballot for Precinct 427 is attached. Please keep in mind that ballots vary from precinct-to-precinct as the races for constable, JP and such will be different depending on where you are in the County.
You can contact Hunt County Voter Administration to request a sample ballot from your own precinct by calling (903) 454-5467.
The propositions on the ballot are county wide propositions so they will appear the same on all ballots. For ease of reading, I have typed up the proposition language and included them in this post. Note that both propositions call for additional taxes, so every voter is well advised to consider them carefully.
Hunt County Proposition No. 1
“The issuance of $24,420,000 road bonds for the construction of roads throughout the county, including participation in joint state, city and regional government projects and the levy of a tax in payment thereof.”
Paris Junior College Proposition 1
“Approving the annexation by the Paris Junior College District of the following territory: Hunt County, except the territory located in the Terrell Independent School District, and authorizing the imposition of an ad valorem tax for junior college purposes, which is currently set at a rate of $0.1773 per $100 valuation of taxable property.”
